Crucial Data & Analytics

After being involved with some of the biggest organisations in Australia, from retail giants to small logistics and finance companies, there has always been one common theme – our people are our greatest asset. The reality is that most organisations have a fragmented approach to understanding and mitigating people related risks.

Crucial Data & Analytics was born out of a need to start the journey to better understand the financial and productive impacts from people risk.

The Crucial Story

The journey started simply by being involved with building various areas of small – medium sized organisations. This was through the delivery of automation in systems and processes through to management of teams and influencing strategic business direction. The underlying theme through all of this was the value and effort required by the individuals within the business to make it successful.

After moving into the corporate world I had a serious misconception that because they were big they must be doing things right! This was where the inevitability of starting a business became a needed reality. There were some benefits like the exposure to more diverse areas of risk which helped formulate the drivers behind people risk and what it all really means. Being involved with big blue sky thinkers in this new world of risk allowed me to understand the nuts and bolts of safety, workers’ compensation and health and well-being.

My business and finance background then allowed me to formulate what this all means to an organisation linking across various areas such engagement, absence, operations – the various essential areas of a business that don’t necessarily interact especially when it comes to risk. This silo approach leaves senior decision makers vulnerable and organisations with major risks that are poorly understood and inadequately managed.

After dealing with some of Australia’s largest organisations across all industries I was surprised that in the majority of cases these are simply not even on the radar. Crucial Data & Analytics was set up to provide the analytics required to firstly answer these and many more people risk related questions but also to enable business to understand the link to productivity, profitability, and sustainability.
